Ingredients We Always Choose
Inside our formulation philosophy — and the actives we trust.
A LoveMore formula begins with a short list, not a long one. We choose ingredients the way a chef chooses produce — by season, by source, by the specific job each one is asked to do. The result is not minimalism for its own sake. It is the conviction that every ingredient on a label should earn its place.
Calendula is in nearly every FemiCare formula. Its anti-inflammatory profile is well documented, its tolerance is excellent on sensitive skin, and it has been used in intimate preparations for centuries. Aloe vera, cold-pressed rather than reconstituted, provides hydration without occlusion. Lactic acid — naturally derived — supports the skin's acid mantle and gently encourages cell turnover at a fraction of the irritation of stronger AHAs.
For body care, we lean on jojoba and sweet almond oils, both structurally close to the skin's own sebum, and on shea butter for its fatty acid profile rather than its weight. Where actives are needed — caffeine for circulation, niacinamide for tone, hyaluronic acid for hydration — we keep concentrations within the range that the most current dermatological literature supports as both effective and well-tolerated.
Equally important is what we leave out: sulphates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, drying alcohols, and microplastics. We are vegan and cruelty-free by default, not as a marketing position but because there is no formulation reason to be otherwise. A short label is not a limitation. It is a philosophy. The fewer ingredients we ask the skin to negotiate with, the more clearly it can do its own quiet, intelligent work.
